Youth Serve Montana Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a graduating high school senior.
• Plan to attend a participating Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement member institution in Montana.
• Complete at least 100 hours of qualifying volunteer service during the 12 months before submitting the application.
• Volunteer service used toward the 100-hour requirement must be uncompensated.
• Complete the FAFSA to demonstrate financial need.
• Use scholarship funds during the 2026–2027 academic year.
• Enroll full-time for the fall semester.

Requirements

• Complete the Youth Serve Montana Scholarship application.
• Document at least 100 qualifying volunteer-service hours completed within the previous 12 months.
• Provide information about each service activity, including hours served, the service performed, who benefited, and a contact for verification.
• Submit a narrative response of 500 words or less explaining what motivates you to volunteer and how you plan to continue serving.
• Submit a narrative response of 500 words or less explaining how your volunteer work positively affected your community and how the experience affected you personally.
• Provide proof of acceptance to a participating Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement institution.
• Certify completion of the FAFSA.
• Provide required applicant and parent or guardian signatures when applicable.

How to Apply

1. 1Complete at least 100 qualifying volunteer hours during the 12 months before applying.
2. 2Confirm that your intended Montana institution participates in the Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement.
3. 3Complete the FAFSA.
4. 4Gather documentation and verification contacts for your volunteer activities.
5. 5Complete the online scholarship application.
6. 6Write both required narrative responses of no more than 500 words each.
7. 7Complete and upload the required signature documentation.
8. 8Submit the completed application by the annual deadline.
