Winona County Promoting Modern Agriculture Undergraduate Scholarship

Eligibility

• Live in or attend high school in Southeast Minnesota.
• Enroll in an agriculture-related field of study.
• Attend an accredited two-year or four-year postsecondary institution.
• Demonstrate satisfactory progress toward a degree or certificate to receive scholarship funds.

Requirements

• Complete the Promoting Modern Agriculture Undergraduate Scholarship application.
• Provide current GPA and planned postsecondary school and field of study.
• Identify two teachers who may serve as references.
• Provide information about 4-H and/or FFA participation.
• List agricultural education courses completed during high school.
• Provide information about honors, recognition, school activities, community activities, and leadership roles.
• Respond to questions about educational and career goals.
• Explain why you should receive the scholarship.
• Recipients must submit a first-semester transcript showing satisfactory progress before scholarship funds are released.

How to Apply

1. 1Complete the scholarship application without adding additional pages.
2. 2Provide personal, academic, and postsecondary education information.
3. 3Identify two teacher references.
4. 4Describe your agricultural education, 4-H, FFA, honors, activities, and leadership experience.
5. 5Explain why you chose your intended field and describe your future career goals.
6. 6Explain why you should receive the scholarship; applicants may discuss financial need.
7. 7Submit the completed application by April 1.
8. 8If selected, successfully complete the semester and submit an official or unofficial first-semester transcript to receive the scholarship payment.
