Eligibility

  • Be a graduating high school senior for the applicable scholarship year.
  • Be a Credit Union ONE member for at least six months before the application submission date or have a relative who has been a Credit Union ONE member for at least six months before the submission date.
  • The qualifying Credit Union ONE membership account must be in good standing.
  • Live in Michigan or in one of the eligible Ohio counties: Wood, Lucas, Sandusky, Summit, Lake, or Cuyahoga.
  • Have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0.
  • Complete at least 30 hours of documented and certified community service during the junior and senior years of high school.
  • For the 2026 cycle, qualifying community service had to be completed before May 18, 2026.
  • Plan to enroll in a four-year college, university, or accredited trade or vocational school in the fall following high school graduation.
  • Employees and board members of Credit Union ONE and Icon Mortgage and their immediate family members are not eligible.

  • Complete the William G. Coyne Memorial Scholarship application.
  • Provide documentation establishing the required Credit Union ONE membership connection.
  • Provide documentation of at least 30 hours of qualifying community service.
  • Provide academic information demonstrating at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Submit the required scholarship essay.
  • Submit all required supporting documents by the published deadline.
