WID Michigan College Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a woman.
• Be a United States citizen.
• Be a Michigan resident.
• Be currently enrolled at an accredited Michigan university or college.
• Have at least junior status with a minimum of 60 completed college credits.
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Demonstrate educational expenses.
• Meet the program's requirements related to pursuing or developing a career connected to national security or defense.

Requirements

• Complete the WID Michigan College Scholarship application.
• Provide proof of United States citizenship, such as a redacted passport or birth certificate.
• Complete the required narrative responses.
• Submit official college transcripts.
• Submit two letters of recommendation.
• Ensure that at least one recommendation is from a faculty or university member.
• Provide information documenting educational expenses.

How to Apply

1. 1Download and complete the WID Michigan College Scholarship application.
2. 2Gather proof of U.S. citizenship and redact unnecessary sensitive information as instructed.
3. 3Complete all required narrative responses.
4. 4Gather information documenting educational expenses.
5. 5Request two signed recommendation letters, including one from a faculty or university member.
6. 6Have recommendation authors submit their letters directly to Women in Defense Michigan.
7. 7Request official transcripts from your school for direct delivery to WID Michigan.
8. 8An unofficial transcript may also be submitted with the application while the official transcript is pending.
9. 9Email the applicant-submitted portions of the complete application package to WID Michigan by the published deadline.
10. 10Watch for email confirmation that the application was received.
