White Earth Education and Travel Assistance helps enrolled White Earth members participate in educational travel and experiences that enhance their academic development. Funding may support eligible high school and postsecondary students with registration, lodging, per diem, mileage, educational trips, study abroad experiences, and qualifying extracurricular travel.

Eligibility

  • Be an enrolled member of White Earth Nation.
  • Be enrolled full time as a high school or postsecondary student for travel-assistance consideration.
  • Participate in travel that enhances the student's educational experience.
  • Seek other available funding sources before requesting White Earth assistance.
  • Students generally may receive assistance for one travel experience during high school and one during postsecondary education.

Requirements

  • Complete the applicable White Earth Education Assistance application.
  • Provide information about the educational travel or experience.
  • Provide documentation of anticipated costs.
  • Identify other funding sources sought or received.
  • Submit the request approximately 30 days before travel when possible.
  • Submit a one-page reflection after funded travel.

How to Apply

  1. 1Identify the educational travel or experience.
  2. 2Seek school, scholarship, fundraising, or other available funding first.
  3. 3Complete the White Earth Education Assistance application.
  4. 4Provide the proposed dates, purpose, and cost of travel.
  5. 5Submit the request to White Earth Student Financial Services approximately 30 days before travel when possible.
  6. 6If approved, use funds only for eligible expenses.
  7. 7Submit the requested one-page reflection within 30 days after the completed travel experience.
