Eligibility

  • Reside within the West Central Electric Cooperative service area.
  • Have at least a 2.5 cumulative high school GPA or meet the applicable GED score requirement.
  • Be admitted as a full-time student at an accredited institution offering an Electrical Distribution Systems program.
  • Be accepted into the institution's Electrical Distribution Systems program.
  • Begin the program during the fall semester following the scholarship application.
  • Attend an eligible EDS program in Missouri, Kansas, or Iowa.
  • Be willing to complete the required summer internship at West Central Electric Cooperative.
  • Be willing to enter the required post-graduation employment agreement with West Central Electric Cooperative.

Requirements

  • Complete the West Central Electric Cooperative EDS scholarship application.
  • Submit a letter of acceptance showing admission to an accredited institution and its Electrical Distribution Systems program.
  • Submit a high school transcript or official GED score report.
  • Submit a personal goals statement.
  • Submit two letters of character reference.
  • Participate in an interview with WCE management or staff.
  • Complete the required summer internship.
  • Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA per semester after receiving the scholarship.
  • Submit an official transcript to WCE at the conclusion of each semester.
  • Execute the required post-graduation employment agreement.

How to Apply
