The Waning Faust Forestry and Agriculture Scholarship supports students pursuing forestry or agriculture through partner institutions in Maine. At the University of Maine, eligible students are juniors or seniors from Waldo or Kennebec counties majoring in forestry or agriculture. At the University of New England, eligible students are sophomores, juniors, or seniors involved in the American Chestnut Restoration Project, with preference for students who graduated from a Maine high school.

Eligibility

  • University of Maine applicants must be juniors or seniors with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
  • University of Maine applicants must be from Waldo or Kennebec County.
  • University of Maine applicants must major in forestry or agriculture.
  • University of New England applicants must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
  • University of New England applicants must be involved in the American Chestnut Restoration Project.
  • Preference at UNE is given to students who graduated from a Maine high school.
