Village Bank General Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a graduating high school student.
• The student or an immediate family member must have been a customer of The Village Bank since at least January 1 of the previous year.
• Fulfill high school graduation requirements by June of the current scholarship year.
• Plan to pursue studies at an accredited college or university.
• Be willing to have the recipient's name, photograph, and town or city included in promotional announcements by The Village Bank.

Requirements

• Complete The Village Bank scholarship application.
• Submit the required scholarship essay.
• Have a guidance officer or college counselor submit the applicant's school records.
• Submit a letter of recommendation from someone who is not a relative.
• Submit a complete application package by the annual deadline.
• Successfully complete the first college semester before scholarship funds are awarded.

How to Apply

1. 1Confirm that you or an immediate family member meets the Village Bank customer requirement.
2. 2Watch for the annual scholarship application period to begin around mid-February.
3. 3Complete The Village Bank scholarship application and essay.
4. 4Ask your guidance officer or college counselor to submit your school records.
5. 5Arrange for a recommendation letter from someone who is not related to you.
6. 6Verify that the complete application package is received by April 2 unless the deadline is officially extended.
7. 7If selected, successfully complete your first college semester to receive the scholarship award.
