Village Bank Community Leadership Scholarship

The Village Bank Community Leadership Scholarship awards two $10,000 scholarships to graduating high school students from Newton, Wayland, or Waltham who demonstrate active involvement in community or charitable causes in a leadership capacity. Eligibility

  • Be a graduating high school student from Newton, Wayland, or Waltham, Massachusetts.
  • The student or an immediate family member must have been a customer of The Village Bank since at least January 1 of the previous year.
  • Fulfill high school graduation requirements by June of the current scholarship year.
  • Plan to pursue studies at an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrate active involvement in community or charitable causes in a leadership capacity.
  • Be willing to have the recipient's name, photograph, and town or city included in promotional announcements by The Village Bank.

Requirements

  • Complete The Village Bank scholarship application.
  • Submit the required scholarship essay.
  • Have a guidance officer or college counselor submit the applicant's school records.
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from someone who is not a relative.
  • Ensure that the entire application package is complete by the scholarship deadline.
  • If selected, successfully complete the first semester associated with each annual scholarship installment.
