The University of Maine Pulp + Paper Foundation provides full or partial tuition scholarships to University of Maine students pursuing engineering degrees who are interested in careers in the pulp, paper, packaging, and related industries. The Foundation awards more than 160 scholarships annually and supports first-year, upper-class, and transfer students.

Eligibility

  • Be enrolled or planning to enroll in an eligible engineering program at the University of Maine.
  • Be a high school senior entering the University of Maine engineering program, a current first-year, sophomore, or junior UMaine engineering student, or an eligible transfer student.
  • Demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in the pulp and paper industry or related supplier industries.
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 for scholarship renewal and upper-class eligibility.
  • Meet the additional requirements of the University of Maine Pulp + Paper Foundation scholarship program.

Requirements

  • Complete the appropriate UMPPF scholarship application.
  • Provide academic records and required transcripts.
  • Submit a letter to the Scholarship Committee describing interest in the pulp and paper industry and related career opportunities.
  • Demonstrate continued interest in the industry through Foundation activities, student organizations, co-op work, or internships as applicable.
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.

How to Apply

  2. 2Complete the online UMPPF scholarship application.
  3. 3Submit the required academic records and supporting documents.
  4. 4Submit the required letter to the Scholarship Committee.
  5. 5First-year applicants should submit by December 31.
  6. 6Upper-class and transfer applicants should submit by March 31.
