Udall Undergraduate Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a college sophomore or junior at an accredited two-year or four-year U.S. institution.
• Be pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree and plan to enroll full-time in a bachelor's degree program during the award year.
• Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or U.S. permanent resident.
• Demonstrate leadership and public service related to the environment, Tribal public policy, or Native health care.
• Receive access to the application and nomination support through the institution's Udall faculty representative.
• Applicants in the Tribal public policy and Native health care categories must meet the Foundation's official Native American or Alaska Native eligibility requirements.

Requirements

• Complete the 11-question Udall application.
• Submit an 800-word essay connected to the Udall Foundation's values.
• Provide transcripts for all required college coursework.
• Submit three letters of recommendation addressing leadership, public service, and academic achievement.
• Provide additional eligibility documentation when applying in the Tribal public policy or Native health care categories.

How to Apply

1. 1Review the three official scholarship categories and determine which one matches your work and goals.
2. 2Contact your institution's Udall faculty representative as early as possible.
3. 3Complete any internal campus nomination requirements and earlier institutional deadline.
4. 4If registered by the faculty representative, complete the official online application.
5. 5Prepare the required essay, transcripts, recommendations, and any category-specific documentation.
6. 6Work with the faculty representative to submit the completed institutional nomination by the official Foundation deadline.
