The Travis Nursing Scholarship supports Maryland nursing students who exemplify academic achievement, leadership, and community service. The scholarship honors the mother of longtime Maryland Nurses Association and American Nurses Association member and former MNA President Patricia Travis, RN, PhD, CCRP.

Eligibility

  • Be a Maryland resident.
  • Be enrolled in an accredited Maryland nursing education program.
  • Maintain an overall GPA of at least 3.0.
  • Demonstrate academic achievement.
  • Demonstrate leadership.
  • Demonstrate community service.
  • Demonstrate commitment to and potential for leadership in nursing.
  • Have not previously received a Nursing Foundation of Maryland scholarship.
  • If already a Registered Nurse, meet the applicable Maryland Nurses Association membership requirement.

Requirements

  • Complete the Nursing Foundation of Maryland scholarship application process.
  • Submit the required letter of application.
  • Provide at least two letters of reference.
  • At least one reference must be from current nursing faculty.
  • Submit all required scholarship materials by the applicable deadline.
