Eligibility

  • Be a high school junior in Michigan.
  • Identify as a woman.
  • Have completed at least one year of chemistry with distinction.
  • Have completed at least one year of college-preparatory mathematics with distinction.
  • Be an active citizen of the school and community.
  • Be nominated by a high school teacher, counselor, or school administrator.
  • A school may nominate no more than two students from its applicable SWE-Detroit high school nomination program.

Requirements

  • Receive nomination from an eligible teacher, counselor, or school administrator.
  • Provide the student information required by the SWE-Detroit nomination process.
  • Demonstrate distinguished performance in chemistry and mathematics.
  • Demonstrate active involvement in school and community life.

How to Apply

  2. 2Confirm that the school's nomination limit has not already been reached.
  3. 3Provide the nominator with relevant chemistry, mathematics, school, and community information.
