Eligibility

  • Be a high school senior in Michigan.
  • Identify as a woman.
  • Have completed three years of college-preparatory science with distinction.
  • Have completed three years of college-preparatory mathematics with distinction.
  • Be an active citizen of the school and community.
  • Be nominated by a high school teacher, counselor, or school administrator.
  • A school may nominate no more than two students across the applicable SWE-Detroit high school nomination program.

Requirements

  • Receive a nomination from an eligible high school teacher, counselor, or administrator.
  • Provide the student information required by the SWE-Detroit nomination form.
  • Demonstrate strong preparation and achievement in mathematics and science.
  • Demonstrate active involvement in school and community life.

How to Apply

  1. 1Identify a teacher, counselor, or school administrator who can nominate you.
  2. 2Confirm that your school has not exceeded SWE-Detroit's nomination limit.
  3. 3Have the nominator complete the SWE-Detroit high school award nomination form.
  4. 4Provide any academic and activity information requested by the nominator or application.
  5. 5Submit the nomination by the published annual deadline.
