St. Johns Bank Excellence Scholarship

The St. Johns Bank Excellence Scholarship supports graduating high school seniors from eligible St. Louis and St. Charles County school districts who plan to pursue full-time postsecondary education in banking, finance, or business administration. Three scholarships are awarded annually, with recipients selected based on achievement, overall ability to succeed, essay quality, and financial need.

Eligibility

  • Be a graduating high school senior attending an eligible public or private high school within a participating Missouri school district.
  • Eligible school districts include Francis Howell, Fort Zumwalt, St. Charles, Pattonville, Ferguson-Florissant, Orchard Farm, Hazelwood, Wentzville, and Ritenour.
  • Plan to continue education full-time with an enrollment of at least 12 credit hours.
  • Plan to attend a community college, four-year college, or university located in Missouri, Illinois, or Kansas.
  • Plan to major in banking, finance, or business administration.
  • Meet all additional requirements contained in the current St. Johns Bank Excellence Scholarship application.

Requirements

  • Complete every section of the St. Johns Bank Excellence Scholarship application.
  • Submit a high school transcript.
  • Submit an essay of 500 words or fewer.
  • Provide information about the applicant's planned college and intended major.
  • Provide information about educational and career goals.
  • Provide information about anticipated freshman-year tuition, room and board, and book expenses.
  • Provide information about financial need and plans for financing college.
  • List school activities, leadership positions, sports, awards, and recognitions.
  • List school service projects and responsibilities.
  • List volunteer, youth-group, and other community activities.
  • List paid employment held during high school.
  • List other scholarships or awards received.

How to Apply

  1. 1Confirm that the applicant attends an eligible high school within one of the participating school districts.
  2. 2Complete every section of the St. Johns Bank Excellence Scholarship application.
  3. 3Prepare the required essay of 500 words or fewer.
  4. 4Obtain and attach a high school transcript.
  5. 5Submit the completed application and essay through the available online application or according to St. Johns Bank's published submission instructions.
  6. 6Paper applications may be delivered to a St. Johns Bank branch or mailed to the Scholarship Committee.
  7. 7Ritenour High School applicants may submit their materials through their guidance counselor.
  8. 8Submit or postmark all required materials by the published deadline.
