Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be younger than age 22.
• Be a graduating senior or graduate of a high school within the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber geographic area.
• Enter the first year of postsecondary education in the fall.
• Have a career goal in business or a technical field.
• Generally demonstrate at least approximately a 2.5 GPA or significant academic improvement.
• Plan to attend an accredited postsecondary certificate or degree program full-time.
• Priority may be given to an applicant who pursued a vocational or career technical curriculum in high school.
• Priority may be given to an applicant who overcame a qualifying at-risk barrier.

Requirements

• Complete the CFSEM common scholarship application.
• Submit an academic transcript.
• Submit two recommendation letters.
• Complete the required scholarship essays.
• Provide information about extracurricular activities, volunteering, and paid employment.
• Provide information supporting CTE participation or an applicable hardship when relevant.

How to Apply

1. 1Confirm residence or high school attendance within an eligible Southern Wayne County community.
2. 2Complete the CFSEM common scholarship application.
3. 3Upload the required transcript.
4. 4Request two recommendation letters.
5. 5Complete the essays and activity sections.
6. 6Clearly identify vocational or CTE experience if applying through that pathway.
7. 7Clearly explain any applicable educational barrier and how you overcame it.
8. 8Submit the complete application by the CFSEM deadline.
