SNOM Advanced Practice/Training Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a current and active member of SNOM/NASN.
• Hold a current Minnesota RN license.
• Hold current Public Health Nurse certification.
• Hold a current Minnesota Licensed School Nurse license.
• Be currently employed as a school nurse.
• Be accepted into advanced-level education, training, or a graduate program related to school nursing or pediatric care.
• Document an objective to become a Nationally Certified School Nurse through the National Board for Certification of School Nurses.

Requirements

• Complete the SNOM scholarship application.
• Provide copies of the applicant's Minnesota RN license, PHN certification, and Licensed School Nurse license.
• Provide written verification of current employment as a Minnesota school nurse from a direct supervisor or district human resources department.
• Submit the required written responses addressing educational goals, benefits to school nursing practice, community impact, and contributions to SNOM and other Licensed School Nurses.
• Submit all required documentation to the current SNOM President for the Scholarship Committee.

How to Apply

1. 1Confirm active SNOM/NASN membership and required Minnesota nursing credentials.
2. 2Confirm acceptance into an eligible advanced education, training, certification, or graduate program.
3. 3Complete the SNOM scholarship application.
4. 4Gather copies of the required nursing licenses and certifications.
5. 5Obtain written verification of current school-nurse employment.
6. 6Prepare the required written statements.
7. 7Submit the complete application and supporting documentation according to SNOM's current instructions.
