SME Education Foundation Scholarships

Eligibility

• Be a graduating high school senior or current college student.
• Be pursuing an associate, bachelor's, or graduate degree in a technical field that directly supports manufacturing.
• Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA for the general scholarship program.
• Attend an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada.
• Be a U.S. or Canadian citizen or permanent resident, or possess an eligible student visa.
• Be enrolled as either a full-time or part-time student.
• Meet the additional eligibility requirements of individual SME Education Foundation scholarships.

Requirements

• Complete the SME Education Foundation scholarship application.
• Answer the required short-answer questions regarding educational and career objectives, motivation for pursuing manufacturing, and how scholarship support would advance career goals.
• Submit required academic transcripts.
• Submit a list of completed STEM courses.
• Provide two references for letters of recommendation, including at least one faculty member.
• Submit a FAFSA Submission Summary when required for consideration for need-based scholarships.

How to Apply

1. 1Create an SME Education Foundation scholarship account.
2. 2Complete the single online application between November 1 and February 1.
3. 3Provide academic transcripts and STEM course information.
4. 4Answer the required manufacturing-focused short-answer questions.
5. 5Provide two recommendation references.
6. 6Submit FAFSA information when seeking consideration for need-based scholarships.
7. 7The completed application is automatically considered for every SME Education Foundation scholarship for which the student qualifies.
