Eligibility

  • Be a resident of Jackson County or Lenawee County, Michigan.
  • Be accepted to an accredited or certified technology school, trade school, or community college trades program.
  • Full-time and part-time students may apply.
  • Graduating high school seniors, GED graduates, non-graduates, adult learners, and students already enrolled or planning to enroll in qualifying training may apply.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Requirements

  • Complete the Sigmund Scholarship for the Trades application and all required questions.
  • Submit two letters of recommendation from adults who are not family members.
  • Submit documentation from the most recent federal family tax return showing adjusted gross income.
  • Submit a high school transcript when available.
  • Submit the Financial Information Summary Sheet completed by the school you plan to attend.
  • Complete the FAFSA.
