Sigmund Scholarship for the Trades

Eligibility

• Be a resident of Jackson County or Lenawee County, Michigan.
• Be accepted to an accredited or certified technology school, trade school, or community college trades program.
• Full-time and part-time students may apply.
• Graduating high school seniors, GED graduates, non-graduates, adult learners, and students already enrolled or planning to enroll in qualifying training may apply.
• Demonstrate financial need.
• Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Requirements

• Complete the Sigmund Scholarship for the Trades application and all required questions.
• Submit two letters of recommendation from adults who are not family members.
• Submit documentation from the most recent federal family tax return showing adjusted gross income.
• Submit a high school transcript when available.
• Submit the Financial Information Summary Sheet completed by the school you plan to attend.
• Complete the FAFSA.

How to Apply

1. 1Confirm that you live in Jackson or Lenawee County.
2. 2Apply to and receive acceptance from an accredited or certified technology school, trade school, or community college trades program.
3. 3Complete the FAFSA.
4. 4Complete the Sigmund Scholarship for the Trades application.
5. 5Answer all required application questions.
6. 6Obtain two recommendation letters from non-family adults.
7. 7Provide the required adjusted-gross-income documentation from the most recent federal family tax return.
8. 8Provide your high school transcript if available.
9. 9Have your school complete the Financial Information Summary Sheet.
10. 10Submit the complete application and all attachments by April 15.
