Sharon Farr Welch Northern Cheyenne Tribal Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be an enrolled member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe.
• Applicants who are not currently enrolled but are formally reconnecting with the Northern Cheyenne Tribe may be considered if they provide documentation of their reconnection efforts.
• Be enrolled at an accredited college or university for at least six credits.
• Full-time enrollment of at least 12 credits is preferred but not required.
• Trade-school students may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Graduate students may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• STEM majors and careers receive preference but are not required.
• Continuing undergraduates with an overall GPA of at least 2.5 receive preference, but the GPA is not an absolute eligibility requirement.
• Students with Pell Grant eligibility or student loans receive preference but financial need is not an absolute requirement.

Requirements

• Complete the current scholarship application.
• Provide requested enrollment and educational information.
• Applicants reconnecting with the Northern Cheyenne Tribe must provide a PDF summary, limited to one page, documenting those efforts.
• Recipients must submit an end-of-academic-year progress report of no more than one page.

How to Apply

1. 1Confirm Northern Cheyenne enrollment or qualifying formal reconnection status.
2. 2Confirm enrollment of at least six credits at an accredited college or university, or contact the program regarding case-by-case trade-school eligibility.
3. 3Complete the online scholarship application.
4. 4Provide any required documentation.
5. 5Submit the application by August 31.
6. 6Recipients complete the required end-of-year progress report.
