SEED Scholarship

Offered by Delaware Technical Community College

The Student Excellence Equals Degree (SEED) Scholarship provides eligible Delaware residents with tuition assistance for qualifying associate degrees, diplomas, credit certificates, bachelor's degree coursework, and workforce training programs at Delaware Tech. The program is available to Delawareans of all ages and may cover up to five academic years of eligible tuition.

Eligibility

  • Meet Delaware Tech admission and Delaware residency requirements.
  • Have graduated from a Delaware high school, Delaware home school, or qualifying Delaware GED program, unless an applicable foster-youth exception applies.
  • Applicants age 25 or older must generally meet a five-year Delaware residency requirement.
  • For associate degree eligibility, have at least a 2.5 cumulative high school GPA or qualifying equivalent.
  • Students below the associate-degree GPA requirement may qualify through an eligible pathway program.
  • Workforce training certificate applicants are not subject to the 2.5 GPA requirement.
  • Complete the FAFSA and apply for all other financial aid for which the student is eligible.
  • Not have a disqualifying violent felony conviction.
  • Meet any additional academic, enrollment, and program requirements established by Delaware Tech.

Requirements

  • Apply for admission to Delaware Technical Community College.
  • Complete the FAFSA and all requested financial-aid verification documents.
  • Submit a final official high school transcript, home-school transcript, or qualifying GED documentation.
  • Apply for and accept all applicable grants and scholarships other than loans.
  • Enroll full time during the first semester if pursuing an associate degree, unless an approved disability accommodation applies.
  • Maintain the applicable academic and enrollment standards for continued eligibility.

How to Apply

  1. 1Apply for admission to an eligible Delaware Tech academic or workforce-training program.
  2. 2Complete the FAFSA as early as possible.
  3. 3Submit all institutional financial-aid forms and supporting documents.
  4. 4Provide the final official academic record required to verify SEED eligibility.
  5. 5Complete any additional residency, immigration-status, foster-care, or accommodation documentation that applies.
  6. 6Continue submitting the FAFSA each year to maintain the scholarship.
