The Second Century Scholarship provides need-based financial assistance to Native Hawaiian students pursuing their first undergraduate degree at a University of Hawaiʻi campus. Eligibility

  • Have Native Hawaiian ancestry.
  • Be admitted to and enrolled at a University of Hawaiʻi System campus.
  • Be pursuing a first undergraduate degree.
  • Demonstrate financial need through the FAFSA.
  • Meet the applicable campus enrollment requirement, which is generally at least half-time.
  • Meet satisfactory academic progress and any additional campus financial-aid requirements.
  • Hawaiʻi residents may receive priority at some campuses.

  • Declare Native Hawaiian ancestry through the admissions or campus verification process.
  • Complete any financial-aid verification requested by the institution.
  • Enroll in the minimum number of degree-applicable credits required by the campus.
