Sachs Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a Black high school student in the senior year.
• Be a full-time Colorado resident for at least three years.
• Residence in Colorado because of military orders may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Plan to enroll full time in an undergraduate degree program.
• Attend an accredited college or university.
• Meet all additional requirements established by the Sachs Foundation.

Requirements

• Complete the online Sachs Foundation scholarship application.
• Submit a complete high school transcript.
• Submit two letters of recommendation from people who are not related to the applicant.
• Submit two personal statements of approximately 500 words each.
• Submit the Student Aid Report generated through the FAFSA.
• Provide information from the household's most recent tax return.
• Optionally submit an educational, artistic, or professional work sample.
• Attend the required finalist program in Colorado Springs if selected.

How to Apply

1. 1Complete the FAFSA early enough to obtain the required Student Aid Report.
2. 2Create an account through the Sachs Foundation application portal.
3. 3Complete the online application between January 1 and March 15.
4. 4Upload the transcript, personal statements, financial information, and optional work sample.
5. 5Request two recommendation letters well before the separate March 31 recommendation deadline.
6. 6Submit the main application by March 15.
7. 7If selected as a finalist, attend the required Colorado Springs program in June.
