Rossiter Family Scholarship
Offered by The Engineering Center Education Trust
The Rossiter Family Scholarship supports women and racial or ethnic minority students pursuing civil or environmental engineering at Massachusetts colleges and universities. Four finalists are selected for in-person interviews in Boston, with one finalist receiving the $12,000 grand scholarship and the remaining three finalists receiving $1,000 awards.

Eligibility
- Be a woman or a member of a racial or ethnic minority group under the scholarship's eligibility criteria.
- Be a Massachusetts resident.
- Attend a college or university located in Massachusetts.
- Be currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate program in civil or environmental engineering.
- Undergraduate applicants must be sophomores or higher.
- Be available to participate in the required in-person finalist interview in Boston if selected.
Requirements
- Complete the Rossiter Family Scholarship application.
- Submit two letters of recommendation.
- One recommendation must be from a professor.
- The second recommendation may come from another appropriate recommender such as an advisor, employer, or professor.
- Submit an official university transcript.
- Submit the required essay, limited to two pages.
- Submit a statement of financial need, limited to one page.
- Participate in an in-person interview in Boston if selected as one of the four finalists.
How to Apply
- 1Confirm that you meet the Massachusetts residency, enrollment, engineering program, and student-background requirements.
- 2Complete the Rossiter Family Scholarship application.
- 3Request one recommendation from a professor.
- 4Request a second recommendation from an appropriate professor, advisor, employer, or other recommender.
- 5Obtain an official university transcript.
- 6Write the required essay within the two-page limit.
- 7Prepare the required one-page statement of financial need.
- 8Submit the complete application package according to TECET instructions.
- 9If selected as one of four finalists, attend the required in-person interview in Boston.
