Eligibility

  • Be an incoming college freshman or current undergraduate student.
  • Have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Pursue a career focused on the care and welfare of animals.
  • Have hands-on animal-care experience through volunteering or employment in wildlife care, rehabilitation, or a related setting.
  • Pursue Animal Science, Pre-Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Science, Veterinary Technology, Zoology, Herpetology, Wildlife Biology, Poultry Science, Animal Biotechnology, Animal Behavior, Animal Health and Welfare, Companion Animal Science, Wildlife Conservation, or another discipline directly related to animal care and welfare.

Requirements

  • Complete the scholarship application through Bold.org.
  • Submit a 400–600-word essay.
  • Explain the role of animal care and welfare in conservation efforts.
  • Describe how you envision contributing to animal care, welfare, or conservation.
  • Applicants may optionally submit a photo showing themselves providing animal care or rehabilitation.
