Prince George’s County Promise Scholarship

The Prince George’s County Promise Scholarship is a last-dollar program that helps eligible Prince George's County students cover remaining tuition and fees at Prince George's Community College after federal, state, private, and other scholarship aid is applied. The program supports both associate degree students and eligible workforce licensure or professional certification pathways.

Eligibility

  • Be a resident of Prince George's County.
  • Have graduated from a Prince George's County high school within the previous two years.
  • Be a first-time college student with no previous college experience other than dual enrollment.
  • Associate degree applicants must enroll in an associate degree program at Prince George's Community College.
  • Associate degree applicants must have a current FAFSA or MHEC One-App on file.
  • Licensure or certification applicants must enroll in an eligible workforce program leading to professional licensure or an industry-recognized credential.

Requirements

  • Apply to Prince George's Community College.
  • Complete the PG Promise section of the college application if pursuing an associate degree.
  • Complete the FAFSA or MHEC One-App when required.
  • Submit the final official high school transcript.
  • Associate degree students must complete new student orientation.
  • Complete placement testing or meet applicable exemptions when required.
  • Register for courses.
  • Associate degree renewal recipients must complete 30 credits each academic year.
  • Associate degree renewal recipients must maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
  • File the FAFSA or MHEC One-App annually by March 1.
