The PeoplesChoice Technical & Trade Scholarship supports Maine students pursuing technical or trade careers, including fields such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, and aesthetics. Eligible students may attend a two- or four-year college, enter an apprenticeship or postsecondary certificate program, or enter the workforce directly in their chosen trade.

Eligibility

  • Be a current or aspiring technical or trade student.
  • Reside in York, Cumberland, Androscoggin, Aroostook, Franklin, Oxford, Penobscot, Piscataquis, or Somerset County.
  • Plan to pursue further training or employment in a technical or trade field.
  • Be accepted into a two- or four-year college, apprenticeship, postsecondary certificate program, or enter the workforce directly in the chosen trade.

Requirements

  • Submit a 300+ word essay and/or a 3-minute video essay.
  • Explain career goals in Maine.
  • Submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher, advisor, mentor, or instructor.
