Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholarship for Public Service

Eligibility

• Be a current college sophomore who will enroll full time as a junior at an accredited four-year U.S. college or university in the applicable fall term.
• Eligible community college students may apply when transferring to a four-year institution for junior year.
• Have approximately two years of full-time undergraduate enrollment remaining before completing a bachelor's degree.
• Demonstrate financial need.
• Have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
• Demonstrate commitment to public service.
• Plan to pursue a public-service career after graduation.
• Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, permanent resident, or DACA recipient.
• Commit to participating fully in the program's required monthly programming and Summer Voyage planning.

Requirements

• Complete the Voyager Scholarship application.
• Submit unofficial transcripts.
• Provide financial information demonstrating need.
• Complete required essay responses concerning public service goals and leadership.
• Complete the required video response.
• Provide information about public service, work experience, school activities, and community involvement.
• Develop an initial vision for a Summer Voyage experience.
