Eligibility

• Be currently in foster care, a ward of the state, eligible for an independent-living program, or have aged out of foster care.
• Be under age 26 at the time of application.
• Be a United States citizen or permanent resident.
• Be a high school graduate or have earned an equivalent credential.
• Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.
• Be accepted into an accredited, Pell-eligible college, university, graduate program, vocational school, technical school, or other eligible postsecondary institution.
• Provide documentation verifying current or former foster-care status.

Requirements

• Complete the online scholarship application.
• Submit three letters of recommendation from teachers, employers, mentors, or community leaders.
• Submit an official high school, college, or postsecondary transcript.
• Provide court documentation or an official letter from a caseworker or independent-living specialist verifying foster-care status.
• Provide enrollment, financial-aid, and educational-expense information when requested.
