Eligibility

  • Be a resident of Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Kalkaska, Manistee, Missaukee, or Wexford County.
  • Pursue a field of study related to the home building industry, including skilled trades or supporting industries.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Demonstrate community involvement, leadership, and/or service.

Requirements

  • Complete the Northwest Michigan Skilled Trades Foundation scholarship application.
  • Submit a current transcript or grade report.
  • Document community involvement, leadership, and/or service.
  • Applicants are encouraged to submit a recommendation letter, preferably from an active Home Builders Association of Northwest Michigan member.

How to Apply

  1. 1Confirm residence in one of the eight eligible Northwest Michigan counties.
  2. 2Confirm that your education is related to the home building industry or a qualifying supporting field.
  3. 3Complete the scholarship application.
  4. 4Provide your current transcript or grade report showing at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
  5. 5Document leadership, community involvement, and service.
  6. 6Consider including a strong recommendation from an HBA of Northwest Michigan member.
  7. 7Submit by the applicable scholarship-cycle deadline.
