Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship

The Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship helps Indiana's highest-achieving future teachers earn their education degrees by providing a renewable scholarship in exchange for a commitment to teach in an eligible Indiana school for at least five years after graduation.

Eligibility

  • Be an Indiana resident.
  • Graduate from an eligible Indiana high school or be an eligible Indiana college student.
  • Plan to earn a teaching license and teach in Indiana.
  • Attend an eligible Indiana institution full-time and pursue teaching licensure.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen and able to use the scholarship for at least two full academic years.
  • Meet at least one academic qualification: graduate in the top 20% of the high school class, score in the top 20% on the SAT or ACT, or earn at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Agree to teach for at least five years at an eligible Indiana school after graduation.

Requirements

  • Complete the scholarship application through ScholarTrack.
  • Meet the academic eligibility requirements.
  • Sign the required promissory note.
  • File the FAFSA each year.
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA and complete 30 credit hours per year or their equivalent to renew.
  • Confirm the current written-response prompt and application checklist when the 2027–2028 application opens.
  • Fulfill the required Indiana teaching commitment after graduation.
