NDIA Michigan STEM Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a U.S. citizen.
• Be a Michigan resident or an active-duty military dependent stationed in Michigan.
• Be a high school senior pursuing a STEM-related certificate or degree.
• Plan to attend a Michigan-based college or university before the Fall 2026 semester.
• Pursue a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics degree or certification.
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Demonstrate a growing interest in college-preparatory studies.
• Be active within the school and/or local community.

Requirements

• Complete the NDIA Michigan STEM Scholarship application.
• Submit the most recent high school transcript showing cumulative GPA.
• Complete three short essays related to interest in STEM.
• Provide one personal reference.
• Submit one recommendation letter.
• Complete all required application fields and supporting materials.
• Participate in a virtual interview if selected as a competitive finalist.

How to Apply

1. 1Confirm Michigan residency or qualifying active-duty military dependent status.
2. 2Confirm plans to pursue a STEM certificate or degree at a Michigan college or university.
3. 3Complete the online NDIA Michigan STEM Scholarship application.
4. 4Upload the most recent high school transcript.
5. 5Write and submit all three required STEM-related short essays.
6. 6Select a personal reference and obtain the required recommendation letter.
7. 7Submit the complete application by the annual deadline.
8. 8If selected by the STEM Committee, participate in a virtual interview.
9. 9Final scholarship recipients are selected and notified after the interview and review process.
