DeadlineJune 4, 2027

Eligibility

  • Be an eligible ND resident graduate of an ND high school, qualifying bordering-state high school or ND-supervised home education program.
  • Complete essential skills, including a 3.0 cumulative high-school GPA or approved equivalent proficiency, career consultation/coursework, civics test, rolling education plan and four qualifying essential-skill indicators.
  • Complete two of the three readiness components: Postsecondary Ready, Workforce Ready and Military Ready. Each has its own coursework, assessment and indicator requirements; ask your counselor to verify your route.
  • Use the award at an approved ND college, professional/career school or registered apprenticeship within six academic years of graduation.

Requirements

  • Apply through the DPI scholarship portal January 4–June 4, 2027. Prior-year graduates should contact DPI; applications after June 4 are not guaranteed processing for fall 2027.
  • Have school officials verify indicators; public schools report through Choice Ready. Nonpublic and home-educated applicants provide the appropriate verification forms and supporting records.
  • Complete qualifying assessments before high-school graduation; provide scores and dual-credit transcripts when used for your route.
  • For continued payments, maintain 2.75 cumulative GPA, full-time enrollment as defined by your institution and required progress toward completion. Ask NDUS about the one-time final-term part-time exception.

  1. 1Review readiness components with your counselor before graduation.
  2. 2Create your own ND login and submit the application at https://apps.nd.gov/DPI/scholarship/login.aspx during the Class of 2027 window.
  3. 3Confirm submission and school verification; home-educated applicants also submit intent records, notarized transcript/verification and assessment records.
  4. 4After approval, NDUS sends eligible term payments to your institution; no term-by-term reapplication is required.
