Eligibility

  • Be a North Carolina public high-school senior eligible for in-state tuition and accepted to a UNC System campus.
  • Be an SECU member or child of a member parent/guardian at application; eligibility for membership alone is insufficient.
  • Have an unweighted GPA of at least 2.5 and demonstrate leadership, character and community involvement.
  • Meet sponsor exclusions for SECU/Foundation directors, employees, their families and selection-committee families; other large awards may affect eligibility.

Requirements

  • Apply through your high-school counselor and local education agency committee, not directly to the Foundation.
  • Provide acceptance letter, academic information and locally required application materials.
  • Maintain full-time enrollment and GPA 2.5 at the same university; transfers require advance approval.

How to Apply
