Eligibility

  • Qualify for North Carolina resident tuition and reside in a qualifying rural county.
  • Be a graduating North Carolina high-school senior or currently enrolled North Carolina community-college transfer entering a participating North Carolina college/university full-time in fall.
  • Have cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and FAFSA SAI of 15,000 or less.
  • Communicate commitment to return to a rural North Carolina county after graduation.

Requirements

  • Submit the application through NCSEAA's CFNC-linked route and complete FAFSA.
  • Check the current qualifying-county and participating-campus lists.
  • Renew annually through the NCSEAA renewal profile, FAFSA, minimum twelve credits each semester and institutional satisfactory academic progress.
