The Native American Promise Tuition Program provides substantial tuition assistance, including full tuition coverage for qualifying students, to eligible first-year undergraduate students and Tribal college transfer students who are enrolled citizens of one of Minnesota's 11 federally recognized Tribal Nations and attend participating University of Minnesota campuses.

Eligibility

  • Be an enrolled citizen of one of Minnesota's 11 federally recognized Tribal Nations.
  • Be an eligible first-year undergraduate student or transfer student from a Tribal college.
  • Be admitted to the University of Minnesota Crookston, Duluth, Rochester, or Twin Cities campus.
  • Complete the FAFSA.
  • Submit the American Indian Scholars Program application.
  • Meet the applicable household income requirements for full tuition coverage.

  • Complete the American Indian Scholars Program application.
  • Provide Tribal citizenship or enrollment documentation.
  • Complete any additional financial aid verification requested by the University.
