MSSDAR Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be a United States citizen.
• Be a Missouri resident.
• Be a high school senior ranking in the upper 10% of the graduating class.
• Plan to attend a Missouri university or college.
• Meet all additional requirements established by MSSDAR.

Requirements

• Complete the typed MSSDAR scholarship application.
• Submit a typed statement of 600 words or fewer describing career objectives.
• Submit an original high school transcript showing class rank, class size, GPA, and ACT scores.
• Submit four letters of recommendation: one from a principal or school counselor, two from teachers, and one from a nonacademic source.
• Submit a one-page list of extracurricular activities, honors, and scholastic achievements.
• Submit proof of United States citizenship.
• Financial need information may be submitted and is considered in selection.
• Do not include a photograph.

How to Apply

1. 1Complete the MSSDAR scholarship application.
2. 2Prepare the required career-objectives statement.
3. 3Gather the original transcript, four recommendation letters, citizenship documentation, and activity list.
4. 4Arrange the application packet according to MSSDAR instructions.
5. 5Mail the complete packet to the MSSDAR State Scholarship Chair by the published postmark deadline.
