MRES Powerline/Lineworker Scholarship

The Missouri River Energy Services Powerline/Lineworker Scholarship supports students entering full-time electrical lineworker or powerline programs at designated technical colleges in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Unlike the MRES undergraduate scholarship, applicants do not need to live in a household served by an MRES member utility.

Eligibility

  • Plan to enroll full-time for the entire academic year in an eligible electrical lineworker or powerline program.
  • Attend an eligible technical college designated by Missouri River Energy Services.
  • Eligible institutions include Bismarck State College in North Dakota.
  • Eligible institutions include Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount, Minnesota.
  • Eligible institutions include Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Wadena, Minnesota.
  • Eligible institutions include Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Granite Falls, Minnesota.
  • Eligible institutions include Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Jackson, Minnesota.
  • Eligible institutions include Mitchell Technical College in Mitchell, South Dakota.
  • Eligible institutions include Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa.
  • Applicants do not need to reside in a household receiving electric service from an MRES member utility.

Requirements

  • Complete the MRES Powerline/Lineworker Scholarship application.
  • Provide information documenting planned enrollment in an eligible lineworker or powerline program.
  • Submit all supporting materials required by the applicable scholarship cycle.
