The Mountain America Elevate Scholarship supports students across Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, and Utah who are beginning higher education for the first time. The program recognizes academic achievement, character, work ethic, community involvement, and leadership while supporting college, university, and vocational or technical education.

2026 Scholarship Cycle

Eligibility

  • Live within Mountain America's eligible footprint in Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, or Utah.
  • Be a high school student graduating during the 2025–2026 school year, or meet one of the program's qualifying delayed-enrollment pathways.
  • Students who graduated no earlier than spring 2023 may qualify if higher education was delayed for military, humanitarian, or religious service.
  • Students who graduated no earlier than spring 2020 may qualify if all higher education was postponed for an extended gap period of up to five years.
  • Begin higher education for the first time in fall 2026.
  • Enroll full-time at the selected higher education institution.
  • Attend an eligible higher education institution with a Federal School Code.
  • Recipients must qualify for Mountain America Credit Union membership and open an account before scholarship funds are received.

  • Complete the Elevate Scholarship application.
  • Provide requested academic information.
  • Provide information demonstrating character and core values.
  • Describe work experience and work ethic.
  • Provide information about community involvement and contributions.
  • Describe leadership experience.
  • Provide recommendation materials requested by the application.

How to Apply

  2. 2Confirm that you meet one of the program's graduation or delayed-enrollment pathways.
  3. 3Complete the online Elevate Scholarship application.
  4. 4Provide academic, work, community-service, leadership, and character information.
  5. 5Submit all required supporting materials by the annual deadline.
  6. 6If selected, qualify for Mountain America membership and open an account before receiving scholarship funds.
