Eligibility

- Be enrolled in an accredited geology or earth science program at a U.S. college or university.
- Conduct dissertation, thesis, or senior-project research based at least partially in Montana.
- Submit a qualifying research project for review by the Montana Geological Society.
- Projects in the early to middle stages of research receive preferential consideration over projects at or near completion.

- Submit a research-project summary of no more than 300 words.
- Obtain the research advisor's signature on the project summary.
- Submit a workflow timeline for the research project.
- Submit an estimated itemized annual research budget.
- Identify the amount and source of all other project funding in the budget.
