Eligibility

  • Be a United States citizen or national.
  • Be an eligible M.D. or D.O.
  • Work in a Health Professional Shortage Area that corresponds to your training or discipline.
  • Provide full-time or half-time primary healthcare services at an eligible practice site.
  • Agree to use program funds only to repay qualifying educational loans.
  • Have qualifying government or commercial educational loans incurred for tuition and reasonable educational and living expenses.
  • Meet all federal and state service-obligation and debt requirements established by the program.

Requirements

  • Complete the Mississippi State Loan Repayment Program application.
  • Provide documentation establishing professional and specialty eligibility.
  • Provide documentation of employment or service at an eligible Mississippi practice site.
  • Provide documentation of qualifying educational loans.
  • Agree to the required healthcare service obligation.
  • Provide all additional documentation required by the Mississippi State Department of Health.

How to Apply
