Eligibility

  • Be a graduating Mississippi high school student in the current year.
  • Have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale after at least seven semesters.
  • Score at least 20 on the National ACT or 940 on the SAT; ACT superscores are accepted.
  • Be a legal resident of Mississippi for at least one year prior to application.
  • Plan to enroll full-time at a Mississippi public community college or university.
  • Pursue a program leading to a first associate degree or first bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrate leadership through extracurricular activities.
  • Demonstrate financial need through completion of the FAFSA.
  • Submit a signed essay of no more than 200 words explaining how your future plans and college major support Mississippi's automotive industry.

  • Complete the FAFSA.
  • Complete the Nissan Scholarship online application.
  • Submit two acceptable forms of Mississippi residency documentation.
  • Provide qualifying GPA and ACT or SAT information.
  • Submit the required signed 200-word maximum essay.
  • Submit all application materials and supporting documents by March 1.

How to Apply

  2. 2Complete the Nissan Scholarship application beginning October 1.
  3. 3Submit two forms of Mississippi residency documentation.
  4. 4Complete and sign the required essay addressing your future plans, college major, and connection to Mississippi's automotive industry.

  6. 6Monitor your application for any outstanding requirements.
  7. 7Complete a new application and FAFSA each academic year if selected and seeking renewal.
