Eligibility

  • Be an actively serving member of the Mississippi National Guard.
  • Have completed Basic Training or joined the Reserve Officer Training Corps Simultaneous Membership Program.
  • Be a legal registered voter in the State of Mississippi.
  • Be actively serving in good standing and not flagged.
  • Serve through the end of the semester for which SEAP funding is received.
  • Complete SEAP-funded courses before Expiration Term of Service or Mandatory Removal Date.
  • Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA for the previous semester in which SEAP funds were used, or satisfactorily complete a vocational course that does not produce a GPA.
  • Be enrolled at an accredited Mississippi college, university, community college, or vocational or credentialing program.
  • Eligible warrant officers must hold a grade from WO1 through CW4.
  • Eligible officers must hold a grade from O1 through O4.

Requirements

  • Create an account through the Mississippi National Guard SEAP application website if applying for the first time.
  • Complete the SEAP application for each semester in which assistance is requested.
  • Provide military, enrollment, and educational information required by the Mississippi National Guard.
  • Maintain good standing with the Mississippi National Guard.
  • Meet the applicable academic or vocational progress requirements.
  • Submit the application by the published semester deadline.

How to Apply

  2. 2Confirm enrollment in an accredited Mississippi college, university, community college, or vocational or credentialing program.
  3. 3Create an account through the Mississippi National Guard SEAP website if you are a first-time applicant.
  4. 4Submit the SEAP application for the applicable semester.
  5. 5Provide all requested military and enrollment information.
  6. 6Submit Fall applications between July 1 and September 1, Spring applications between December 1 and February 1, or Summer applications between April 1 and June 30 as funding allows.
  7. 7Monitor your SEAP account and Mississippi National Guard education communications for award or additional-document information.
