Minnesota Horse Council / Tony Gasser Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be pursuing higher education connected to horses or the equine industry.
• Attend or plan to attend an eligible university, college, trade school, or other qualifying higher-education program.
• Demonstrate past and present involvement with horses and the horse industry.
• Demonstrate educational and occupational goals connected to continued involvement or service in the horse industry.
• Minnesota Horse Council membership is not required.

Requirements

• Complete the Minnesota Horse Council / Tony Gasser Memorial Scholarship application.
• Submit an official academic transcript showing GPA.
• Describe past and present involvement with horses and the horse industry.
• Explain why you chose your field of study and describe your future educational and occupational plans.
• Explain how the scholarship will help you continue serving the horse industry.
• Describe leadership experience, including activities and offices held.
• Provide educational history and field of study.
• Describe how you plan to finance your education.
• Write a response of no more than 200 words describing your most meaningful horse-related experience and why it was meaningful.
• Submit required recommendation letters.
• Sign and submit the American Horse Council Welfare Code of Practice.

How to Apply

1. 1Complete the Minnesota Horse Council scholarship application.
2. 2Prepare the required responses describing horse-industry involvement, leadership, education, career plans, and financial planning.
3. 3Write the required 200-word-or-less response about your most meaningful horse-related experience.
4. 4Request an official transcript.
5. 5Arrange for the required recommendation letters.
6. 6Review and sign the American Horse Council Welfare Code of Practice.
7. 7Submit the complete application package according to the current scholarship-cycle instructions.
