Eligibility

  • Be completing or have completed the final term of senior year in high school.
  • Plan to attend or be enrolled in a postsecondary institution.
  • Eligible institutions include technical or trade schools, community colleges, state universities, and private institutions.
  • Applicant's family must be a Minnesota Farmers Union member.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to rural Minnesota and its communities.

Requirements

  • Complete the Minnesota Farmers Union Scholarship Application.
  • Submit a 400–500-word essay.
  • Submit two letters of reference from non-family members.
  • Provide information about academic performance.
  • Provide extracurricular activities, honors, awards, hobbies, skills, interests, and volunteer activities.
  • Provide information about involvement in Minnesota Farmers Union youth activities, if applicable.
  • Recipients must provide proof of completing their first postsecondary semester before scholarship payment.
  • Recipients must provide a transcript demonstrating a GPA of at least 2.5 for payment under the standard scholarship terms.
