The Minnesota American Legion Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to Minnesota students pursuing postsecondary education. Eligibility

  • Be a legal resident of Minnesota.
  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Be a legal descendant of a veteran member of The American Legion and/or a legal descendant of an American Legion Auxiliary member.
  • Be a high school graduate by the time the scholarship is received.
  • Meet the academic standards of the institution attended.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Have a good record of school and community citizenship.
  • Demonstrate initiative and a desire to pursue education beyond high school.
  • Attend an eligible Minnesota university, college, vocational school, or other accredited institution of higher education, or an institution in a state with a Minnesota reciprocity agreement.

Requirements

  • Complete the scholarship application.
  • Submit a high school or college transcript.
  • Submit a personal essay or letter.
  • Submit at least two letters of recommendation.
  • Obtain approval and signature from an American Legion Post official.
  • Provide requested financial-need information.

How to Apply
