Eligibility

  • Be at least 30 years old by January 1 of the scholarship year.
  • Be training or retraining at an institution of higher learning to re-enter the workforce or change jobs.
  • Have been a 4-H member for at least five years and/or a 4-H adult volunteer for at least two years.
  • Have not previously received this scholarship.
  • Not be an employee of University of Minnesota Extension.

Requirements

  • Complete the online scholarship application.
  • Describe long-term goals and accomplishments.
  • Provide a practical and achievable plan of action.
  • Explain the rationale behind the action plan.
  • Describe unique opportunities and circumstances.
  • Submit two non-relative recommendation letters.

How to Apply

  1. 1Complete the online application.
  2. 2Obtain one recommendation from a previous/current employer or volunteer leader.
  3. 3Obtain one recommendation from a UMN Extension educator.
  4. 4Submit all materials by April 1.
