Mindy Tomfohrde Scholarship

The Mindy Tomfohrde Scholarship supports members of SEIU Healthcare Minnesota & Iowa who are continuing their education at an accredited postsecondary institution. Two $1,000 scholarships are awarded during each of the union's two annual scholarship cycles.

Eligibility

  • Be an SEIU Healthcare Minnesota & Iowa member in good standing at the time of the scholarship drawing.
  • Use the scholarship for education at an accredited postsecondary institution.
  • Submit only one scholarship application per person.
  • Not receive another SEIU Healthcare Minnesota & Iowa scholarship during the same calendar year.
  • Officers, Executive Board members, and staff of SEIU Healthcare Minnesota & Iowa are not eligible.

Requirements

  • Complete the online scholarship application.
  • Submit a minimum 500-word essay addressing the current Mindy Tomfohrde Scholarship prompt.

How to Apply

  1. 1Confirm that your SEIU Healthcare Minnesota & Iowa membership is in good standing.
  2. 2Complete the online scholarship application.
  3. 3Write the required essay of at least 500 words.
  4. 4Submit the application by July 31 or December 31.
  5. 5Winning essays are selected by the Scholarship Committee after applications are anonymized.
