Mille Lacs Band Academic Achievement Awards

The Mille Lacs Band Academic Achievement Awards recognize enrolled Band students who complete major academic milestones ranging from high school and vocational credentials through associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. A substantially larger award is available for completion of an Ojibwe Language bachelor's degree with an accompanying service commitment.

Eligibility

  • Meet current Mille Lacs Band eligibility requirements for Academic Achievement Awards.
  • Complete an eligible academic milestone.
  • Eligible milestones include a high school diploma, qualifying GED, vocational or technical diploma or certification, associate degree, bachelor's degree, graduate degree, or qualifying Ojibwe Language bachelor's degree.
  • Only one award in each applicable degree category is paid.
  • The Ojibwe Language bachelor's award includes an employment commitment to work for the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe.

Requirements

  • Complete the Academic Achievement Award request.
  • Submit proof of the completed diploma, credential, or degree.
  • Provide any Band enrollment or eligibility documentation requested.
  • For the Ojibwe Language bachelor's award, complete the required employment commitment.

How to Apply
