Mikkelson Foundation Scholarship

Eligibility

• Graduate from a high school in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, or New Mexico in 2026.
• Begin undergraduate studies in fall 2026.
• Attend an accredited four-year college or university.
• Plan to major in engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, or biological sciences.
• Have an unweighted cumulative GPA of at least 3.7.
• Have a cumulative SAT score of at least 1200 or a composite ACT score of at least 28.
• Demonstrate exceptional ability in mathematics and science and strong potential for future achievement.

Requirements

• Complete the official Mikkelson Foundation application form.
• Submit a complete official high school transcript.
• Submit standardized test scores if they are not included on the transcript.
• Provide three references from teachers, counselors, employers, or activity directors.
• Submit an original personal essay.
• Mail the complete application package to the foundation by the deadline.

How to Apply

3. 3Confirm that SAT or ACT scores appear on the transcript or include separate copies.
4. 4Request three references well before the deadline.
5. 5Write and revise the required original personal essay.
6. 6Mail the complete application package early enough to arrive by April 10.
